Importance of Saturn and Jupiter's Transit

Dear Readers,

Saturn and Jupiter are slow moving planets. Saturn on an average takes about 2.5 years to transit through a sign and Jupiter approximately takes about 1 year. Therefore transit impact of these two planets gain importance on two folds, firstly they are in a sign influencing the sign for a long period and secondly the important effect that is causes.

Let's probe this in further detail.

Saturn and Jupiter rule the last 4 house of the kalpurush chart. A Kalpurush chart is nothing but a chart starting from Aries as the lagna.

Sagittarius is the 9th house
Capricorn is the 10th house
Aquarius is the 11th house
Pisces is the 12th house

Sag and Pis are ruled by Guru or Jupiter and Cap and Aqu are ruled by Shani or Saturn.

These are very important house and they have a profound influence on the native.

9th house is that of Luck and its the Karak for Gyan, knowledge and wealth (2nd house)
10th house is that of karma and its the Karak for one's parakram or effort (3rd house)
11th house is that of success and its the karak for one's happiness and knowledge (4th house) and
12th house is that of Moksh and ultimate happiness and its the Karak for the house of crown and utilization of knowledge (5th house).

Now, the effect of the transit of Saturn and Jupiter will effect each chart in a different way. There is no one cap fits all. For some people the change of Saturn or Jupiter might cause a lot of problems and for some it might them positive and there will be a remarkable difference in their approach and attitude to life. They might feel more rejuvenated and things that were stuck up and they felt unlucky, might start to feel that luck has started shining on them. Some people's money might be stuck up or a contact that was pending, suddenly will get cleared and some might be able to communicate well, removing the issues caused due to mus-communications and some might be able to get rewards for their hard work. For some, they might experience that some of the concepts that they had a hard time understanding, be it so as a student or in work, people hit these mental blocks, are unable to think out of the box, suddenly might get this flow of new ideas flowing and might get the "Ah ha..." moments.
Some of the people might be facing issues on the home front. Dear Readers,

Saturn or Mars planets are most probably the most feared planets. They are natural malefics in a chart. Why do people fear these planets?

Fear arises due to lack of knowledge. If one spends time in understanding these two planets, one will stop fearing these planets and instead will wait for these planets to bestow their grace on the native.

Some might think, I am crazy, but wait, lets take a bit of time to understand these planets.

Just take a 50,000 Sq Ft view of these planets and their rulership in a Kalpurush chart. Kal prush chart is nothing but a chart who's lagna is Aries.

Mars is given the lord ship of the 1st house and 8th house and Saturn is given the lordship of 10th and 11th house.

The 1st house, is the most important house in the chart and that depicts SELF. The 8th house is both the beginning and ending of life.

Saturn on the other hand rules 10th and 11th house. 10th house is the highest point in the chart and it denotes Profession of the native and 11th house is that of Success of the native. Saturn rules upchay sthan of the house of growth, heap and prosperity of the Lagna.

Now, take a few minutes to think about what I wrote above. The 1st house and 10th house are very important house. 1st house is that of Dharma, 10th house is that of Artha, 11th house is that of Kama, and 8th house is that of Moksh. So these two planets are rule all 4 pillars of a life and these being Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksh.

If a persons 1st house, 10th house, 8th house and 11th house are spoiled, then one can only imagine what would become of the native. If these two planets are spoilt in the chart, then the four pillars of life get disturbed and a person will not be able to do any work nor will get any success and that would affect his confidence and individuality.

Now, if these planets become powerful in a chart then the status of the entire chart will go up and its only people with strong Mars and Saturn who will leave a mark or will be capable to take on huge endeavors or can do big and amazing things in life.

Just think about it, 1st house is for SELF, 8th house is for Individuality, 10th house is for Profession and Karma and 11th is to achieve success.

So, does this make you sit back and think about the power that these two natural malefic planets have.

This will also make one think about the portfolio of the planetary cabinet as well. Why is it that the Maharishis allocate the most important house to these Natural Malefics? What was the purpose of it?

To understand this question, lets start to delve deeper and study them as Karak planets......

My First Personal Meeting with Guru ji - 4th Aug 2003

Dear List Members,

I feel that I am very lucky and honored to have met Krushnaji in
person.

Krushnaji I would like to thank you for taking so much time despite
your busy schedule and teaching me.

I had spent three days with Krushnaji having discussions and learning
Ashtakavarga. Krushnaji has such a deep understanding of the system
and with crystal clear thoughts. I would like to share my experience
with the group.

On the first day when I visited Krushnaji, a couple had visited
Krushnaji with the chart of their son. I had realised later on it
was some big ministers relatives. The couple had created the
worksheet and had brought it with them. I sat there and saw
Krushnaji focus with deep concentration on the chart and not say a
word. After looking at the chart and the points he asked me to take
a look and answer the questions. So under the supervision of
Krushnaji I answered the question. I also learnt how specificially
Krushnaji answered the question and to the point. The couple then
asked a some more questions and Krushnaji answered them. The couple
then offered Krushnaji money but Krushnaji said to them to donate it
to charity.

Later on I learnt that a student of Krushnaji was approached by a
minister as their son was lost and Krushnajis student had faxed the
chart of the lost son. Krushnaji had made a prashna analysis using
Krushnas Ashtakavarga system and predicted that the child would be
found after 3 months on such and such date only. This he had told
his student who was in a different city. The same message was
relayed to the querist. Then after 3 months on THAT DAY ITSELF the
message was revived that the lost son was found !!! Every one had
praised Krushnajis student for predicting correctly but his sincere
student announced that it was his Guru, Krushnaji who had actually
predicted.

In another discussion I had with Krushnaji, he explained in short
that there was a huge theory behind House A,B,C and D and E. He had
received one of the highest jyotish awards in the India and also was
offerend a PhD for his system by Sri Lankan University and he was
offered to fly there and receive the honour but due to the situation
beyond his reach he was not able to go and receive the Doctorate.

For all these things I really had to ask so many questions only then
he said about all the awards and titles he had recived. Such a
humble man is Krushnaji.

Krushnaji taught me and clarified thigns that were not clear in my
mind for so long became instantly clear when he took the pen and
paper and started to explain. In next few mails I shall discuss the
same with the list members so that I can share what I have learned so
that everyone can benefit from the same.

After the second day Krushnaji had gauged my knowledge and areas
where I needed practice and some of my questions Krushnaji had told
to hold off as I was not ready as yet to proceed to that level as it
would just confuse me. He was right. He did try to demonstrate by
telling me something which I did not understand and in order to
understand things to that much depth one had to have the fundamentals
clear.

Krushnaji then explained to me that hes taught 80% of the system
already. If students focus on whats been taught so far and practice
on the same using various charts then even with whats taught one can
predict to a very accurate level.

Now whats left is going into finer details. For that Krushnaji even
uses charts upto Nadiamsa or D-150 but those are for very fine
predictions.

I also got to see Krushnaji's library of books. Let me tell you that
it would one a long long time to just go through that collection !!!

Then on the 2nd day I realised that Krushnaji had also authored a
book on timing of marriage. These books were written in Marathi. He
also was in the process of writing another book on Nadis in details
but due to lack of time he was not able to finish it.

On the second day Krushnaji took the chart of Lord Ram and he had
explained with the use of Vimshottari dasa on how events of Lord Rams
chart fitted i.e. his Marriage to Sita, his vanvas (of 14 years) and
simultaneously his fathers death, separation from his wife (kidnapped
by Ravan), birth of children in his absence reasons for being
Mahapurusha etc on how things fit exactly if one understood Houses
A,B,C,D and E and Vimshottari Dasa starting from Moon only. We had
focussed on the timing and Krushnaji had worked on Sri Ramas chart in
his book also. Since Its in Marathi and my knowledge of Marathi was
a little rustic (still is) its taking me a little longer to
understand and it also made me realise that it must have been such a
huge task for Krushnaji to teach despite language barriers to
students with different mother tongue like French, English etc and
that too a system which is Math based and does not have stories
linked to it.

I was like in awe to see all the computations that Krushnaji did in
his mind. Like based on degrees he told me that this planet is in
such and such division in the various divisional chart and such and
such is the status and such and such is the points and such and such
is the exact vimshottari antra on such and such a date... I was like
scrambling to keep with you all the sophisticated computer programs....
It made me realise that when Krushnaji said something on the list hes
done such a detailed study of the planets their status etc etc etc...

On day three I had written the list of basics that was still not very
clear in my mind and Krushnaji answered each and every question of
mine in details.

I had a train to catch and time on the train to close my eyes and
think on the amount of knowledge I had received in those 3 days.

Its overwhelming and great experience.

Mahatphalam for Dashansa (D10)

In KAS which is also traditional, D10 is NOT used for Career. Therefore saying
that traditionally its used for Career might be incorrect.

I do know that you keep an open mind about things and I want to just highlight
the fact and some food for thought based on a tradition of KAS and its teachings
that might give some food for thought as you are a sanskrit scholar and I might
offer another chain of thinking and share what I have learnt.

D10 is Mahatphalam and that is used for studying the details about 8th house.
The 10th house is Mool Karak for 8th house so making 10 equal divisions and
studying the karaks will give you more detail about 8th house. Just as D7 is
used for 5th house, D3 for 1st house, D9 for 7th house, similarly D10 is used
for 8th house.

I am no sanskrit scholar but from whatever little has been explained to me the
word "Maha" or "Mahat" is used in sanskrit which sort of marks the ending of
things. For example Mahayatra or Mahanirvan or Mahavastra all indicate or point
towards the last yatra, or cloths that one puts before the funeral pyre or final
nirvana.

There is perfect symmetry for the divisional charts (except Trishansa and Hora
and both of them have their meaning and together they include all 7 planets).

Therefore the logic for the dcharts is based on mool karak theory i.e. the Karak
of Karak and that is the 3rd house from the house under focus. [Here I am
talking of Karaks as explained in KAS and not whats given in say in general
texts which might have become corrupted over time or the possibility is there]

For 5th house D7 is used For Sibblings D3 is used as 1st house is 5th from 9th
so ALL children of Father are seen from 1st house and the 3rd house is the mool
karak and therefore 3 equal divisons are made and hence D3.

Similarly for 10th house, D12 (happiness derived from father or till the time
the child lives with parents), D24 (when the child earns and D24 has been
alloted to be the knowledge and this knowledge is knowledge of earning a
living), D60 (Life time of achievement - in other words past life means the life
from birth till that point where the person has worked and accumulated good will
and his deeds will speak or his cummulative karma of life).

For 7th house its D9 and D45 etc etc.

I think, the use of D10 has become corrupt over time as no where this is given
that one has to see Career from D10. Mahatphalam is to be studied from D10 is
given.

I do understand that mostly on all the jyotish groups now a days one has used
D10 for finding profession, but if one is true to his or own concience then one
will study this further.

I have written several mails on this and d charts as per my learnings.

My 2 cents for what its worth and maybe you can do some thinking on this as this
knowledge I have written is from my Guru ji.

Dear RR ji,

Re-reading your email more carefully, let me write a few more lines or to
clarify your words of "material acquisition" from 2nd house.

2nd house is for wealth or dhan sthan of 1st. So its not only material
acquisiton. You will know this that back in old days, a gyani person was
considered wealthy?

So KARAK for 2nd house is 9th house i.e. Sagittarius and dhan karak or karak of
2nd house is Guru and Mool Karak is Moon.

Now kshetra kundali as you know shows all things so to focus on specific area
you cast the respective varg chart and then focus on those areas w.r.t age of
the native.

So D4 is studying dhan and that is at the physical level, D16 at mental level so
enjoyments or comforts and discomforts etc so a description of mental feelings
and D40 is at a much later stage in life where one is studying good will which
is at a very different level if you get what I am trying to express. There is
difference between a) owning / renting a home b) enjoying a home c) good will
of the renters. So good will is also a form of wealth albiet at a different
level as compared to D4 and D16.

Thanks for the informative post. As per traditional astrology -
* A weak 8th house (i.e. a weak, debilitated or combusted 8th lord along with malefic aspects on 8th) indicate suicidal tendencies - In natal chart and prashana the same can indicate suicide. Here the death is self inflicted.

Ash : What I am saying is that IN GENERAL when 8^th house is weak, it means that the native’s individuality is very weak. This is the basic point. There after applying psychology to deduce what that can mean. One way to look at it is that a weak person might resort to committing suicide provided other factors support the same. Prashna is application using the “birth of a question” instead of “birth of a native”, so Prashna is application of Jyotish to a “question” and limited to the question only. The Prashna question must be very specific. If a person asks about inheritance in the Prashna then the result will be different interpretation of 8^th house matter.

* A strong 8th house (i.e. strong, in own house or exalted 8th lord) with strong malefic aspects and combination indicating danger can indicate death inflicted by external causes - i.e. it could be accident, murder etc.

Ash: A strong 8^th house (sign, combustion, AV (yogas) all studied together), means that is converse of the above. A person when face under adverse conditions might not give up so easily. He might struggle to overcome the difficult situation. So in GENERAL death will be of some other cause which is not suicide or SELF (Karak for 1^st) inflicted.

* A strong 8th house with benefic aspects on 8th indicate longevity and survival even in face of danger.

Ash : Basic point in KAS is that when any planet Aspects House A, B or C i.e. if we are talking of 8^th house as the house under focus, then if any planet aspects 3^rd house (A), 8^th house (B) or 12^th house (C) then those planets will not be capable to give the result, their samdharmi can step in.

So, Now if a Benefic (Ju, Ve, Me, Mo) i.e. natural benefics have GENERALLY more than 4 bindus, in their SAV, then those planets if they ASPECT 8^th house then they cannot give the result themselves. So mostly they cannot give their result in the MD. Venus has 20 years in Vim dasha and Ju and Me also have very long MD’s so if they cannot give death and will only give struggle then as the adage goes, what does not kill u will only make u stronger J So again what I am saying and what “Traditional Jyotish” is very much the same.

Now, touching a bit of KAS here, when we compute the TOTAL POWER of A planet for any house, then we already have considered

1) The yogas (based on relative positioning of planets)

2) Upchay house (A, B, C)

3) Considering Parasparakaraka (Mutual Significators) or 4:10 relationship

4) Give special status to 6^th and 10^th lords (D and E) by adding 5 points

5) Aspect on House A, B ,C (so in this case, 8^th, 3^rd and 12^th)

6) Aspect on Lords of A, B and C (based on individual chart)

7) We find that for all 7 planets.

8) We can only get SAV once we know all 7 planets and their relative positioning from each other and lagna.

After doing all the above we get the summation of the POWER, so all the angles are covered.

These are all standard rules ser per classics.

* When the 8th house is moderately strong - the final result will much depend on environment and influences.

Ash: In KAS we can get power in numerical format. So the strongest power planet can give death or 1^st or 5^th lord antra. For natural death, KARAK is important and so is Mool Karak so 3^rd lord and 10^th lord, natural 3^rd is Me and Natural 10^th is Shani.

It is also said that a person with a very powerful 10^th house can have iccha mrytu. Basic logic is that even if a person is dying, if he is not loosing his will power and he is fighting then he can be saved or he or she will not give up easily.

Transits is important for environment and that is considered also via daily points.

I have written an article on Death the ultimate truth in which I have done this study.

Also a chart of Souvik dutta’s list closure (death) was done by me on this list. That must be in the archives. Same rules have been used.

Note: "Strength of 8th house" can for the sake of simplicity can be interpreted as "strength of 8th lord itself". But as per "Hora swami gurunja veekshita yuta" sloka of Brihatjjataka, aspect of house lord, Jupiter and Mercury can also import "strength to a house"; Further the house lord going to Upachaya (3-6-10-11) from that house also increases the "strength of the house" (as per the sloka "lagna lagnapatau balena sahite..........).

Ash: Yes, thank for clarifying this, I am also considering the strength as per Ashtakavarg therefore I am considering the yogas and then to get the final power I use the rules listed above to get a more detailed picture. Regarding your point of Guru and Mercury, aspecting a House, then as I said, if Guru and Mercury aspect 8^th house then these planets cannot give death, therefore 16 years MD of Ju and 17 years get added (barring exceptions). Similarly Venus if it aspects then 20 years. Benefics have very long MD’s .

8^th house is the KARAK sthan for 1^st house. Natural 8^th lord is Mars. Lord of Scorpio in Kalpurush chart. Therefore the status of 8^th house will have its say on the 1^st house which is Lagna.

8^th house is 6^th house from 3^rd and 10^th from 11^th house. It is 11^th from 10^th and 3^rd from 6^th. Therefore its upchay from these house and it will help grow the significance of these house. That is the basic definition of upchay sthan.

Now, As per the text given by Sreenadh ji Meenaraja Hora says that the native will be business man. It is quite logical to derive that a person with a strong individuality needs his space and freedom to make his own decisions. Doing a job, where in he might not get full freedom, might eventually quite and might want to do his own or “business”.

Regarding hard working, 8^th house is upchay for 3^rd house. 3^rd house is that of parakram. It is also 11^th from 10^th house which is the house of success of authority (11^th from 10^th).

Now, if say 8^th house is Libra or Aries, then Ve or Ma in own house would also rule the 3^rd house. Therefore the 3^rd lord would also be placed in 8^th house, therefore Mool karak for Lagna is in 8^th house of individuality as well. If 8^th house is Pisces or Virgo, and that would also make 5^th house lord same. Therefore 5^th lord would come in 8^th house and 5^th house is a Trine therefore it is upchay for 12^th house and also eager for 8^th house matters being upchay. Like that you can study for each lagna.

Meenaraja Hora also says that the native will be handsome. 8^th house is Karak for 1^st and a person with a powerful Mangal (natural 8^th lord) and also 1^st lord or Functional 8^th lord in the 8^th house will make a person handsome or with a good personality.

Regarding Spend thrift, I would like to say that any planet in 8^th house will have its aspect on 2^nd house for sure. A planet in own house will have its aspect with equal power but with a malefic drisit on 7^th. Guru, Mangal and Shani will have 3 more aspects. However, all planets will have a 7^th aspect and that will be malefic. Therefore it will not give the result of 2^nd house i.e. accumulation of wealth. However, 8^th house is upchay for 11^th, so it will give income or it will increase the significance of 11^th house as its 10^th house from 11^th or powerful upchay. So if a person is getting income but is not accumulating wealth, then he might be spending it J, making him a spend thrift. He also talks of a FAMILY of spend thrifts, again 2^nd house is that of kutumb as well. Here again this is general, and exception would be if Sa rules 7^th and 8^th house or if the same planet rules 11^th and 2^nd etc etc.

That said, the above is a VERY GENERAL approach and it corroborate what Meenaraja Hora states.

Regarding Parasara’s commentary, he talks of one becoming a Thief, so maybe a person with weak 8^th house might have a weak character, and at the same time its eager to give parakram and also income, so maybe that might lead to cheating others taking the NON HARD WORKING ROUTE and try to make quick income and using his parakram by cheating others. So again upchay of 3^rd, 11^th and weak individuality comes into play. Applying Psychology here.

A weak 8^th house (many planets weak for 8^th house as per ashtakvarg) will increase longevity as strong planets can give death. Therefore if you FOCUS on 8^th house as being weak and many planets being weak for 8^th house results, then what Parasara is saying is more in line??

8th lord in 8th amplifying the significance of 8th house is natural - that is why the statement, 8th lord in 8th will increase longevity. But it should also be noted that hard work and suffering are also signified by 8th house - 8th lord in 8th house increases hard work and suffering as well along with longevity.
Further result derivations following the same track of interpretation would be much informative. It will also interesting to learn to identify - suicide, accident death, and murder - based on the strength of 8th house and 8th lord. I invite further discussion on these.

Rahu & Ketu - Enigma - Solved by KAS

Dear Group,

Rahu and Ketu are a sort of enigma and a lot of people get confused to understand how these graha’s will manifest in ones life. There is a lot of mythology around it. Some people dread these 2 grahas.

Now the big questions beacons on How would the results of Rahu and Ketu manifest in a chart of a native.

KAS gives us a clear understanding of the same.

There are two different contexts that we judge Ra and Ke on in KAS. One is the Quality and other is for Timing of Event.

Now, in standard VA, I think everyone must have heard that Ra with Mo afflicts moon. Ra with Guru causes a chandal yog. Ra with Mangal makes Mangal more eccentric and so on and so forth. Now these are judged for Quality of Planet and how Ra and Ke affect them.

Now on the same note, you will NEVER find any yog in ANY book which says that if a planet is with Ra or Ke then it SPOILS RA OR KE.

This means that Ra and Ke might change the quality of a planet but its not the reverse.

This also means and clearly denotes that there can be no SAV for Ra and Ketu. Anyone who considers the SAV of Ra and Ke, have not understood the basic meaning of SAV.

Now, all the above discussion is on how Ra and Ke change the quality of a planet and that all has to do with QUALITY and NOT TIMING OF EVENT.

Again, I have said this in the past and I am re-iterating this point again is that Quality and Timing of Event are 2 different and distinct topics.

Now, that we have addressed Quality, we shall talk on TIMING OF EVENTS and how Ra and Ke shall act.

How does one consider Rahu and Ketu?

At the outset I would first request people to refer to Visual 1 on Donna’s website to get a good understanding.

Rahu and Ketu are shadowy grahas and they are not physical planets like Su, Mo, Ma, Me, Ju, Ve and Sa.

Therefore Rahu and Ketu REPRESENT the Sign lord and Nakshatra lord.

The next logical question that comes to mind then does Ra and Ke represent both lords 50%/50%?

The answer to that is NO, NOT NECESSARILY.

That will VARY from Chart to Chart and it will depend on the Sarvashtakavarga of SAV chart.

You can refer to Visual One to get a good understanding of the same.

Let us Assume that Rahu is in the sign of Guru and Nakshatra of Venus. So as per the law of KAS it will REPRESENT the sign lord which is Jupiter and the nakshatra lord who is Venus.

Now lets take Native A and in his chart, in Sagittarius sign (sign of guru and nak of Ve) Guru has 6 bindus and Venus has 3 bindus. In this case, Rahu will REPRESENT GURU MORE and Venus LESS and to be EXACT in the Ratio of 6:3 or it will be 67% like Jupiter and 33% like Venus.

However it is possible that in Native B’s chart, in Sag (sign of Guru and nak of Ve), due to particular planetary positions, Venus now might have 6 bindus and Guru might have 3 bindus. So for Native B, Ra will represent Venus more than Guru and it will represent Venus 67% and Guru 33%.

So, this will change from chart to chart. Now, what happens if both Guru and Venus say have 5 bindus each ? In that case, it will represent each planet 50%.

The total result of How Ra or Ke will will depend on the power of the planet in the Worksheet row 17. So say if Ra represents Guru more, then it will ACT as per the Power of Guru in the WS.

We also have a law that Ra and Ke if they are placed in House D or E will become very eager to deliver the event. In most cases Ra and Ke represent 2 or 3 planets and those 2 or 3 planets are LoD or LoE for some other houses as well. So in that case, they will also become eager to give the result of those house. So the periods of Ra and Ke can become quite challenging to decipher IF AND I REPEATE IF ONE DOES NOT HAVE THE WS AND THE POWER OF THE PLANET IT REPRESENTS IN ALL 12 HOUSE. This no system gives in numerical format and KAS gives that. So it becomes easy to decode on how Ra and Ke will give results in their antra.

Ra and Ke when placed in the House also become KARAK (as they represent the sign lord) for some house as well. Let us assume Ra is placed in 2nd house. Therefore Ra will become KARAK for 7th house as it is in KARAK sthan for 7th as B. Ra will be in House D for 5th and House E for 9th as well. So it will be eager to give the timing of 5th and 9th and it will also become KARAK for 7th house. Yes, here Ra will also represent the nakshatra lord and that too must be factored in.

So, in KAS, we study Ra and Ke from ALL 8 angles.

Next question that people ask, what about Samdharmi? Does Ra and Ke become samdharmi to the planets they conjoin or if they are in the same sign or nakshatra in Rasi?

The answer to that is NO. Ra and Ke do not become samdharmi to the planets they conjoin in RASI.

However, they DO BECOME SAMDHARMI to the planet they CONJOIN IN NAVAMSA and to the Navamsa depositer. These laws are from the lessons for Navamsa.

So let us assume that Ra conjoins Mercury and Moon and Guru in Rasi and in Navamsa Ra is with Sa in the navamsa of Scorpio.

So here Ra will represent the sign and nakshatra lord just as explained above and here I am using the word REPRESENTS and then Ra will be Samdharmi to Shani and Mangal (navamsa depositor of mars) in navamsa.

So as far as timing of event goes, Ra will represent the sign and nakshatra lord, and in some case, let us assume that sa or ma aspects ABC house then Sa or Ma cannot give the result, so in that case Ra being samdharmi to Sa or Ma can step in for them.

But please be very clear, that Ra will NOT BECOME SAMDHARMI TO MO, ME when they conjoin in Rasi.

This law has been mixed up in the vedic texts that are there as this distinction has not been made clear or it has got mixed up over due course of centuries or millennia. This has been kept in tact in KAS and has clarified this law for all.

Therefore, for a person who follows KAS and gets the power of planets for all 12 house using the Worksheet (KAS program), for them it becomes very clear on who Ra and Ke will represent and how they will manifest for all 12 house of the chart. Who Ra and Ke will become samdharmi to and for which planets they can step in and furnish the timing of event.

Rahu and Ketu at times might represent 3 planets even i.e. in some case if the nakshatra is Ketu or Rahu and they represent 2 other planets. Please refer to Visual one as given above for further clarification.

As per KAS, Ra and Ke have 2nd, 5th, 9th and 7th aspect. For Timing of Event these aspects are Not used. They are used for quality.

Some schools do not consider any aspect of Ra or Ke and some consider 5, 7 and 9th aspect only. There is a lot of mystery around these facts as to whether to consider the aspects of Ra or Ke.

KAS addresses these issue as well, if one studies the laws in depth.

For Timing of Event, we do not consider any aspect. So on one had those who say that Ra and Ke’s aspect are not taken then yes, for Timing of Event DIRECTLY they are NOT considered. However, for QUALITY they are.

If Ra aspects Moon or Conjoins Moon it AFFLICTS moon. What that means is that here one took the fact that Ra conjoined Moon or ASPECTED IT and here it also means we consider both Rasi and Navamsa.

So, if a persons mind is spoilt or afflicted very bad AND IF OTHER LAWS EXISIT TO POINT SOME MENTAL CONDITION then such a person might be a “chand mara” or a person with some mentally challenged individual or some problem with his or her mind or a person might get fits / epilepsy etc etc depending on the severity.

So here, for Quality one does consider the aspect. Even for Child birth, there are laws in KAS were we check If Ra and Ma aspect House B for conception or we say that choosing the time of conception that period must not be afflicted by Ra and Ma. So for such things we do check the aspect of Ra along with the other planets.

Also for chart matching we overlap charts and check if Ra and Sa of Male aspect Ma of female and if Ra and Sa of Female aspect Ve of male. So again here we take Rahu.

So all such differences that I have seen so many Jyotish argue about endlessly are all ADDRESSED and with clarity in KAS and those using KAS automatically are using all these things and might be oblivious to such facts.

Without KAS, I can imagine how complex it might become for those following VA to decipher what results will Ra and Ke give in their antra or MD.

This mail has already become big but I hope it goes a long way to bring light to those who are perpetually struggling with the understanding on how Ra and Ke will act.

6th House and 6th Lord

Dear Group,

6th house is considered the most malefic house and Guru ji has correctly referred to it akin to a BLACK HOLE. Therefore its lord is the most malefic planet. This is the basic.

Now, 6th House is House C for 2nd, House E for 1st, House D for 9th, House B for 6th and House A for 11th.

As per some Vedic Texts, 3rd, 6th and 11th are said as bad. As per our system, 3rd and 11th are house D and House E for 6th as B. Therefore they are UPCHAY means the house of growth, heap and prosperity of 6th house.

If one has patience and go though the KAS Program and Sheets H1 to H12 in the Worksheets, and study how its designed, so many things will get clear.

Now, that we have established that 6th house is the worst, therefore planets that go into 6th house are like they are going into a black hole where they loose their property or its spoilt.

The opposite of most malefic i.e. 6th house would become the MOST BENEFIC house as 1:7 are opposite and just as debilitation signs are opposite exaltation signs, the opposite of the worst house is the most benefic house which is the 12th house. Therefore planets that go into the 12th house the results denoted by those house get enhanced and the house where the 12th lord goes and sits, it enhances the result of that house.

The Planets going into 6th house, get spoilt and the place where 6th lord goes and sits, it spoils the result of that house.

Now that we know that 6th lord is most malefic planet then, we can then talk of samdharmi. Sam – dharma means similar duty. When planets become samdharmi then they perform similar duty.

Therefore when planets conjoin the 6th lord or become samdharmi to it i.e. refer to the lessons on how planets become SD’s, then they will perform similar duty. Which means that those planets that conjoin the 6th lord will also get the property of 6th lord thereby getting spoilt.

Now, if LoD and LoE which are special, and they are eager planets to give the timing of event, if they become SD to 6th lord then these planets get tainted and cannot give good results or they will give timing but it will not be good due to getting property of 6th lord as its SD to it so it will also perform the duty of 6th lord.

In the same way, if the KARAK planet which is the most important planet, and by that I mean it controls the status of House B, so if that main planet who controls the status of House B is related to 6th lord then it will spoilt the quality of House B or if 6th lord goes and sits in the house of karak or karak sthan then too it will spoil the result of the house so karak sthan gets spoilt or if its SD to KARAK sthans lord i.e. Karak.

Now we talk of Aspect.

The power given by the 6th lord is not good. We use KAS for benefit of Humanity so we only see the GOOD power or the POWER that it gets to doing GOOD.

If 6th lord has less than 4 bindus, then it will aspect by benefic dristi or in other words if it aspects any planet or House, it will ADD that power. Now THAT POWER THAT IT ADDS is NOT GOOD POWER. So that is why we do not add that power in the WS. On the contrary we take out double the power for QUALITY to judge that.

For timing of event, we do not add that power.

Similalry, if 6th lord is in 4th place (in 4:10) so as per our laws, in general we say that the

SUBORDINATE is noble so it will give full assistance to the Boss, but here the SUBORDINATE IS 6TH LORD who is malefic so that will not HELP the boss, but on the contrary that will oppose the boss and that is why we do not ADD the power as we know that 6th lord aint gonna help, on the contrary it will spoil.

Now lets talk of 6th lord placed and its power in SAV.

If 6th lord is placed with more than 4 bindus, means 6th lord has got more support from other planets so its like a BAD CHAP being supported by many people. That will make the 6th lord more confident to do more harm as it gets support and backing from other chaps (planets). So 6th lord placed in any house (remove the exceptions that I gave initially) it will spoil the house its in and also, its aspect will be malefic. More the power, the harsher will be the aspect and more it will spoil the house it is placed in.

So again, if its placed in House D or E or A then its disturbs the main house of timing and also Karak sthan which is most important.

Lastly, 6th lord placed in 6th house with more bindus and if 6th lord is natural malefic then that becomes good. As here a Natural Malefic in a natural bad house will make the planet positive i.e. –ve * -ve = +ve.

So a natural malefic, by being placed in 6th house with more than 4 bindus, then for QUALITY we reverse the points i..e in short, we take the benefic aspect as its now become good. So it will not spoil the house, but infact it will add good power. This is the exception.

Yes, Sun and Moon CAN NEVER BECOME 6TH LORD. They are special.

For dual signs i.e. in all cases apart from sun and moon , they planet will also own another house. So one has to judge carefully before predicting the final result.

Please do not forget that 6th House is House C for 2nd house, B for 6th, D for 9th, E for 1st and A for 11th. For these house, it is not bad as its upchay lord. So please use proper logic and approach.

Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksh

Dharma are 1st, 5th and 9th
Artha are 2nd, 6th and 10th
Kama are 3rd, 7th and 11th
Moksh are 4th, 8th and 12th.

1st house is physical plane, 2nd house is mental plane and 3rd house is on
spiritual plane and cycle continues

Therefore

Dharma

1st house is Dharma on Physical plane
5th house is Dharma on Mental plane
9th house is Dharma on Spiritual plane

Artha

2nd house is Artha on Mental plane
6th house is Artha on Spiritual plane
10th house is Artha on Physical plane

Kama

3rd house is Kama on spiritual plane
7th house is kama on physical plane
11th house is Kama on mental plane

Moksh

4th house is moksh on physical plane
8th house is moksh on mental plane
12th house is moksh on spiritual plane.

The house that we have defined in VA has some base in this. For example, we
say 12th is most powerful moksh as it is in spiritual plane, same way 9th
house is most powerful trine as its dharma on spiritual plane and 3rd house
is kama at a spiritual plane.

4th house is moksh and here Moksh is right here in this life time i.e.
ultimate enjoyment or bliss and that is at a Physical level and all kinds of
fixed assets like home, car etc we see from 4th house. From 8th house is
the next generation of it i.e. if 4th is knowledge then 8th house is
research and enjoyment on a mental plane and the next generation of that or
the next advancement of using 8th is 12th house is enjoyment at a spiritual
level.

10th house we see for authority which is at a physical level so the
authority that we hold on physical plane and 2nd is the next generation of
that i.e. family or wealth and 6th is on the spiritual plane and that is the
status or social status of the native.

Next level of understanding this would be Karak theory.

8th house from any house is the Karak sthan. For example in Kalpurush
chart, the karak for authority i.e 10th hosue is Sun as it is natural 5th
lord and it is 8th from 10th house. So like that.

Now for 1st house i.e. Dharma the Karak is Moksh Sthan. Similarly you can
add that for Dharma on a physical plane the Karak for that is Moksh on a
mental plane.

So summarizing for all house

For Dharma trikon, the Karak of Dharma is Moksh. For 1st house the karak is
8th, for 5th house the karak is 12th and for 9th house the karak is 4th
house.

Similarly for Moksh trikon the karak is Kama. i.e. for 4th house the karak
is 11th house for 8th house the karak is 3rd house and for 12th house the
karak is 7th house.

Similarly for Artha trikon the karak is Dharma. i.e. for 2nd house the
karak is 9th, for 6th house the karak is 1st and for 10th house the karak is
5th house.

The next level of depth would be to go to Mool Karak level which is the
Karak of Karak.

So for say 7th house the karak is 2nd house which is the karak and the Mool
karak or the Root Karak is the 9th house which is the karak of karak i.e.
karak of 2nd house.

So 7th house is Kama on physical plane and that is desire manifested at
physical level so we denote wife from 7th house and the karak is family or
2nd house which is Artha sthan and the mool karak is 9th house which is
Dharma sthan.

Same way for say 10th house which is Artha the karak is Dharma and Mool
karak is Moksh which is 12th house.

Therefore for 10th house i.e. the artha on physical plane, the status is
controlled by Karak which is 5th house which is Dharma on mental plane and
the status of that is controlled or the mool karak is Moksh on spiritual
plane.

Then, you can then expand this theory by using the Kalpurush chart.

10th house is Capricorn (shani) and the karak is denoted by Sun (Leo) and
the mool karak is Guru (pisces).

For marriage, 7th house is for wife (Venus) and Karak is Taurus i.e. 2nd
house (Venus) which denotes family and mool Karak is Guru (Sag) i.e 9th
house so that is father / teacher / sanchit karm. In various texts you will
see that status of Venus and Guru Bal is checked so that is status of Karak
and condition of mool karak.

Upchaya Theory for next level of depth.

For Dharma sthan the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th are Kama and Artha. 3rd is
kam, 6th is arth, 10th is arth and 11th is kam. Then from Karak sthan i.e.
8th house 3rd is artha , 1st is dharma, 5th house is dharma and 6th is
artha.

Now Common from 1st and 8th are 6th and 10th house i.e. 2 artha sthan.
Therfore these 2 houses are very special as they are upchaya or house of
growth from phal and karak sthan.

Same way for Arth sthan are triggered by kam sthan for kam sthan the
triggers are moksh and for moksh the trigger is dharma.

In standard texts its given that good results are to be experienced in the
antra of trines i.e. 5th and 9th and that is because for 12th house which is
moksh is triggered as both 5th and 9th are dharma and are upchaya for 12th
and also the karak which is 7th house.

Correct Prediction - Marriage Timing With KAS Calculation (Power of KAS)

Back on 24^th Feb 2003, there was a query posed on another list, in which the data was give of a lady who was having difficulty in getting married.

Back then I had given the calculation and had given the date that, that lady would get married between 25^th May and 7^th June 2005.

While I was searching for some data, I came across that old post and no feedback was given. So I had sent an email yesterday, requesting the Gentleman to give me feedback on what came of that prediction.

The Gentleman Confirmed that the Lady did get married in Feb 2005. So I was 3 months off.

I had sent am email requesting to confirm the outcome as it had been 2 years.

Dear All,

I started working on the 1st of October on the production of a film. It is a small film and the work is not all that exciting, but it is getting a little better now. I guess the first 10 days were more of a probationary period and I signed a contract to work on the film on the 11th of October. I have been really busy since the 1st.

I must mention one thing - I like this one girl who is a part of the team on the film. She is only 22 years old and since the last few days, we have got really close in the emotive sense. However, yesterday, she mentioned that she already has a boyfriend in New Delhi but according to her it isn't much of a relationship...so I guess it's not happening

That is all that I had to tell you. I remembered you'll mentioning 11th October and that is the date I signed the contract for the film. You are also correct that the work is not exciting - I mean mentally stimulating - its more physical than mental.

Dont know where this girl fits in in the entire picture, but I guess you might have an idea.

Death Event as per KAS.

Dear Jagdish,

First thing, who told that death is a malefic event? As per KAS we
say its the most benefic event. So I consider death as the most
benefic event and as per KAS, benefic events happen in the highest
power planet.

Just see my previous post on death of her father, which
happened in Highest power planet for 4th house.

All 12 houses are acting together. Now death also does not happen all
the time in every MD isn't it?

So if death is malefic as per you then why is it happening in highest
power planet?

Actually, there is not good or bad thing, that is us who classify it
isn't it.

Say one person looses job then at that moment he is sad and upset and
says that a malefic event happened, but then after few years, u see
the chap all settled and that time u ask, then he will say... good i
lost my job, after that i started or got another offer and here i am
today... so suddenly that malefic event changed to a benefic event.

So all these thing are classified by us based on our view /
perspective of it.

Yes, if u see, from our view point, the no one likes to see their
loved ones die, as that makes us or even the thought of that makes us
sad, so we might classify that as malefic event but then again that is US.

But say if someone was suffering from a long time, then when that
person dies, then in some way we are relived that, that person is now
away from that pain and machines and things like that, so again that
is another perspective.

So Jagdish, I keep it simple, if a happy marriage happens it will
happen in high points or lod or loe, if something malefic event
happens then it will happen in low points, so based on that
definition, death happens in highest power planet so it must be benefic.

In some case, i think there is a lesson given, that a father was
inaugurating their big factory and the same day his son dies.

Such things also happen. Keep an eye out u will find that events also
happen like that.

Just the other day, I was sitting in office, and just few days before
one person got a promotion and was made a principal and few days
later, i got news that her sister in law died in a car accident and
just a few days later also got her 4th dan black belt.

Just think about it. So all this is not co-incidence. I do not have
that chart, but then if u think about it u will see there is a trend.

6th house is triggering and 6th is karak for 11th and 11th is the
elder brother of her husband (7th) and his wife is 11th. Now death is
from 6th house.

So now, if 3rd and 6th house are either ruled by Ju or Me means if
aries or libra is lagna then in that case, 6th house and 10th house
trigger simultaneously.

Ofcouse that is all without a horoscope but I am trying to show how
things can happen.

Now she getting her 4th dan black belt is also 10th house matter along
with 1st so again its LoE for 1st and LoE for 10th as well.

So like that, if u keenly notice events happening u will begin to see
a trend. Ofcouse for that u must understand the timing of events and
KAS i.e. in your mind u should be able to relate ABCDE houses.

I feel that this native might have married very late about 38 to 40
years and the marriage might be that of adjustment.

I don't know if i am right, but this chart seems a peculiar chart.
This person might be speaking very well, it also seems that this
person might be spiritual and wealthy as well. He also might like to
live alone. He also must be very passionate (maybe a passionate
speaker) and it also shows in some ways he will rise in his field to
very high status as well. He might believe in karamakand. He also
might be donating a lot of money as well.

Yes, you got the point :-).

Sa will give power to House D and E for 8th and at the same time it
cannot give death as it will aspect House B and at the same time its
in House E for 6th as B and it will give power to strength ones
personality and SELF so one can overcome his enemies, enjoy good
health and also get good knowledge (inheritance - secret knowledge was
transfered as inheritance) and it will also make things come easily as
Sa will aspect 5th house so it will add power in the WS to 5th 8th and
1st house and for 1st house it will add 3 times its benefic aspect
giving enjoyment to ones name.

Malefics in upachya sthan are good again thats said in VA.

Dear Satish,

Good question.

Yes, Ju will always aspect House C so it will not give the result in
the house its placed. Even if you notice, say Generally Ju is with
more bindus in the place where it is so if you keenly observe the WS,
you will see that when you Add the A+B+C points Ju being in House B
with 6 bindus will get added and at the same time it will aspect House
C with -6 so net effect is 0.

Similarly with Mars as well, Mars will always aspect House A. So if
its with 3 bindus in House B then it will ADD +5 to House A and
reverse when Mars is with 5 bindus in House B then it will subtract -5
from House A subject to condition Ma is not LoD or LoE.

Now add another layer.

Say Ju is in 7th house with 6 bindus and Moon is in 11th house with 3
bindus, so here Ju will aspect Moon and it will also take off the
power of Moon so in WS you will find that the power of moon for 7th
house has also become less and also for that of Jupiter as Ju will
take off 6 points by aspecting House C.

Actually Satish, if you try to understand the creation of WS i.e. if
you carefully study WORKSHEETS H1 TO H12 in the KAS Program along with
the lesson this phenomenon will get cleared.

So if Ju is in 7th house with 6 bindus and more planets are in 11th
house then Ju will not only take off power as it is aspecting HOUSE C,
but at the same time WEAKEN BY TAKING OFF -6 FROM ALL THE PLANETS THAT
ARE IN 11TH HOUSE (unless Ju is LoD or LoE in that case we wont
consider the malefic aspect of Ju).

Same for Mars.

If Mars is in 7th house with 6 bindus and its not LoD or LoE for 7th
house and say there are more planet in 2nd house of the chart in that
case, Mars will take off -6 points due to aspect on A and also -6 from
all planets that are in House A weakning them to give result for 7th
house as well. So in WS you will find that the power of all the
planets in House A become less.

ADD to that...

Assume there are 2 planets in 8th house with 3 bindus each then they
will both add +10 strength together to all the planets in 2nd house.

So in WS Summary eventually we will get the COMBINED NET POWER.

SATURN.

Saturn in any house "Generally" will have less than 3 bindus. So it
means it will aspect 3rd, 7th and 10th house Benefically. So it will
enhance the power of house houses.

Now 10th house from any house is the Authority of we say House D of
that. 3rd house is the Parakram sthan but it will also delay the 3rd
house from where it is situated (for example Sa in 5th house will
delay Marriage but at the same time it will ADD 3 times its BENEFIC
POWER) for Marriage.

So assume Sa is in 5th house with 2 bindus. So it will aspect ABC for
7th house as B.

Which means in the WS itself will add +6 to A, +6 to B and +6 to C so
net 18 points. So it will be malefic for 5th house but it will
enhance 7th house. If it is LoD or LoE then you can add +5 more so
such a Saturn will enhance 7th house or 3rd from itself.

Actually if you go into a much deeper level it will increase the
foundation of the house it is in

Lets take Sa in 1st house. So it will aspect 3rd house and 10th house.

Now lets take 1st house as B

So 8th house become A so that is Karak, then 3rd house is the Karak of
8th and 10th house is the karak of 3rd.

So it will strength the roots.

OR in other words or simpler words,

Saturn will aspect and give power to its Parakram sthan and the karak
of parakram sthan so there by enhancing the ressults of 3rd=B and its
karak so quality of its Parakram is enhanced.

10th house also is House D for 1st.

OR in other words, Saturn will strengthen 2 upachayas sthan from the
place is it situated i.e 3rd and 10th house.

Studying Opposition of Father for Marriage

Dharm & Moksh Trikon

Dharm I was taught means property or also duty. Like saltiness is the
property of salt. So 5th and 9th house are property of 1st self. 9th
house is equated to religion for some reason and I feel that that
might be due to the fact that religion teaches one to uphold dharm.

1st 5th and 9th as u said are dharm trikon. for 1st the karak is 8th
so Mars (kalpurush chart), for 5th (leo) its Guru i.e. 8th from 5th
(lord of pisces) and for 9th its moon (cancer) i.e 8th from 9th (sag)

So these are the Moksh sthan and Moksh as I have been taught has got
nothing to do after death but its the ultimate happiness right here in
this life time.

So 4th, i.e 8th from 9th , 12th and 8th house are the karak or say u
can see the End of Dharm, or in other words Moksh achieved.

Means Karak for dharm sthan is Moksh and from Moksh sthan you can time
the end of Dharm or in other words, one reaches Moksh and that is true
happiness and that is the final destination of Dharm.

In KAS we say that 2nd lord and antra of 2nd lord or its SD can cause

Here if Ju and Ve go into 2nd house and here if EVIL NATURE is
considered as Ju and Venus with less than 4 bindus and if they rule
angles means 1st house inclusive then that will mean the following.

1) From 2nd house Ju and Ve with <>
on 8th house and will increase the power in the WS for 8th house.

2) At the same time in case when Ju and Ve would not have been 1st
lord then their aspect would make them defunct to give result as per
our law that planets aspecting house ABC cannot give rseults their

1) 12th lord from House B is not conducive to House B.

2) As per the above scenario, the exception is given where its said
that if the 8th lord i.e. 12th from 9th is also lagna lord or posted
in lagna then he becomes a benefic.

Now lord of 8th and 1st can only be Mars or Venus and that too for
Libra and Aries lagna. So if Venus is in Taurus and Mars is in Sco
then they become benefic.

So For both cases LoE is in House B for B = 8. So better results of
8th house.

Also in both cases i.e. Aries lagna and Libra lagna 9th and 6th lords
are same.

general things are given.

Laghu Parasari says

" 41. If the lord of the Ascendant and that of the 10th mutually
exchange places, i.e., the Lord of the Ascendant is posited in the
10th and that of the 10th in the Ascendant then they form a Raja Yoga.
They signify position, power and reputation."

IN KAS WE STUDY THE SAME AS

10th house is D for 1st so it will give good name fame to person. 4th
house is 4th from 10th so like a helper or subordinate. 10th is that
of authority.

Now when the 2 exchange so 1st lord goes to 10th hosue means LoB has
gone into House D. Just check Parvez Musharaf's chart. Sco lagna and
Mars is in 10th house of the chart so its in House D.

Next, if 10th lord goes into 1st house so itself is becoming a
subordinate. Now as per KAS we go one step further and if the 1st
lord goes into 10th house with less than 4 bindus and lord of 10th
goes into 1st house with more than 4 bindus then the lord becomes very
powerful means such a person has very good personality and powerful
lagnesh. The power given will be that of 10th lord of the chart.

10th hosue is again special where malefic planets i.e. <>
good.

Now in some case Ju might become 10th and 1st lord so Pisces lagna and
Virgo lagna so 10th and 1st lords are same. So if Ju is in lagna then
such a person might get good name and reutation but at the same time
it will affect the 7th house 9th house and 5th house with malefic
aspect. Now if that is the case then the multiplication factor i.e
sign backing will also be high for Mercury it would be 1.6 and for Ju
it would be 1.4.

So one can study like that.

" 11. Mercury has less of this evil nature as compared to Venus; the
Moon has much less than that of Mercury. The same way the Sun and the
Moon are not evil being Asthmesh (lord of the 8th)."

IN KAS WE SAY

Mercury is more benefic than Venus for that you can see the total
bindus in lesson one. Mercury has been allocated 54 benefic points
and Venus has 52 benefic points.

Moon hsa much less than that of Mercury it says, and if you check the
bindus allocated to Moon its only 49 bindus or benefic points so
compared to Mercury's 54, Moons is far less of 49.

In KAS we say that Sun and Moon are not malefic as 6th lord or
saptemesh but in laghu parasari its given for Ashtemesh.

6th house is what we take as most malefic and infact from 8th house we
see death which is most auspicious event as per KAS and will happen in
highest power planet or LoD or LoE etc.

" 6. All the planets owning Trines, i.e. the 1st, 5th and 9th Houses

IN KAS WE STUDY IT AS FOLLOWS

1st 5th and 9th are good irrsepective the are owned by benefics or
malefics as in all cases of 5th and 9th they will trigger 12th apart
from other house too.

Now only Me and Ju might own 9th and 6th.

Ve and Ma might own 1st and 6th together so sco lagna or taurus lagna

no planet can own 3rd and 5th or 11th and 9th.

Now in KAS we would go into further detail using Ashtakavarga to judge
more closely who will the planet behave more like. Krushanji has
given that for Mars and Venus especially when owning 6th house one
must study the same keenly.

Now this part is not covered in the write up in laghu parasari or the
expectation is that one must know these things as fundamentals of
Astrology as its given or indicated in the first few verses.

The same or similar thing with the next verse where they say about
planets owning trine and 3-6-11 simultaneously.

Now, take Saturn and aries lagna so Sa will own 10th and 11th house.
So Sa is not necessarily bad for all events. For 10th house it will
become B and A for 3rd house so it will give hard work it will become
C for 6th and D for 1st and E for 5th.

Similarly Sa owning 3rd and 4th house so again you can study using
ABCDE theory and it need not be the case that Sa is bad or evil. Take
Sco lagna and Sa in 4th house then as per VA its sasa mahapurush yog.

" 36. Rahu-Ketu, if posited in a Trine or Angle and are not related to
any other planet, give good results during their main ruling period
and in the sub-period of a Yoga Karaka."

AS PER KAS

We are saying Ra and Ke located in House D and E are eager to give
results.

Now when Ra/Ke is placed in 1st house then it will become eager to
give result for 4th and 8th.

Ra/Ke in 4th house can give marriage and good income

Ra/Ke in 7th house can give good authority and wealth

Ra/Ke in 10th house can give good status reputation and good luck

Ra/Ke in 5th or 9th will trigger 12th house of moksh and enjoyment and
right in this life time.

Ra/ke in 9th house will trigger 12th and 4th so good enjoymenet and
knowledge and assets

Ra/Ke in 5th will trigger 12th and 8th house so good inheritance/ death
and enjoyment.

Ofcouse when Ra is in 9th then Ke is in 3rd and when Ra is in 5th then
Ketu is in 11th so thereby triggering 2 more houses atleast.

Then you can add the SD portion to it i.e .Ra and Ke are Sd to Sign
lord AND NAK LORD and give predictions or timing accordingly based on
the points and status of the planet they represent.

This is another verse that I read from laghu parasarai.

"23. The 8th house from the Ascendant and the 8th from the 8th, i.e.
the 3rd are the two houses of longevity. The houses related to death
are the 12th from each of these. Thus the 2nd and the 7th are the
Maraka houses."

AS PER KAS WE SAY

8th house is B for death and u find timing from that. 3rd house
becomes A. So they are saying that A and B are 2 houses for logevity.

Now as per KAS we say 7th house is that for accident so A becomes 2nd
house, and another way to put it is 12th from House A and B for death
and they are calling that Maraka.

But for death timing it must be from 8th house and not from 7th or
2nd. Yes, say if 7th is triggering and 8th is powerful in antra of a
planet and powerful means from WS, LoD and LoE etc then an accident
can lead to death.

Now Laghu parasarai is taking 8th and 3rd as B and A as 2 houses for
logevity so 7th (B) and 2nd (A) are taken as Marak or can cause death
but Death itself is from 8th.

All this we are covering in KAS and with upchay theory.

Infact planets in 6th, 2nd and 9th can give more life as they aspect
ABC for 8th as B so these planets themselves can't give death. I
think Krushanji has written about this in some old post.

Explaining Laghu Parasari using KAS - Verse 40

This verse is given from laghu prasari.

" 40. During the sub-period of Saturn in the main ruling period of
Venus, Saturn enhances the result of Venus, so is the case during the
sub-period of Venus in the main ruling period of Saturn. In other
words the sub-period Lord enacts like the main ruling period Lord."

AS PER KAS

We say Sa and Ve are Natural Samdharmi. So one can step in for the other.

We also say that if Venus is spoilt then the aspect of Saturn enhances
the malefic results of Venus.

Now here they are trying to say that one planet will act like other
and we are saying that they are Samdharmi.

We also say that that will not be the case when Ve and Sa go into 1:7
position when they have enmity. So that exception is covered by KAS
as well.

Actually, KAS had remained in Krushanji's and his Guruji family and
was guarded so there is more chance that the knowledge remained there
is pure and unadulterated over the passage of time.

Actually, if one studies KAS in detail so many VA concepts will get clear.

planets in 11th are ok but 11th lord is deemed most
malefic. ( 6th is lesser and 3rd lesser than 6th)

Take 6th house as B. We say 6th house is most malefic right.

Now 3rd house becomes D and 11th house becomes E.

Now, depending on what you are finding or the context its being used

Say you are studying job timing so 3rd and 11th are eager to giving
timing of event, now 3rd is also parakram and can be interpreted as
giving or success in interview so that is "pre" event of 6th making
chance and 11th is income so that starts after job.

You can also add to this mail the portion that when 12th lord goes into 8th its also called VRY and as per KAS we say that 8th house results are enhanced, same way when 12th lord goes in 6th house then results of 6th house is enhanced and again that is also called VRY and some also call 3rd house or take 3rd house into factor for VRY and some schools do not but to us it does not matter, as 12th lord going into 3rd house will enhance its result and in other way LoD comes in House B so it will also become eager to giving timing of event as well.

go in 12th house they enhance the status of the house they rule.

Another way of looking at it is that 6th house is the most malefic
house so 7th from that is the most benefic house.

There has been some discussion that you can look up in the archives
when some people have showed surprise as in traditional VA, 12th house
is only taken for loss and is deemded bad.

8th lord in 12th means 8th house results are enhanced and in VA they
call it Vipareet Raj Yog

6th lord in 12th house also enhances the status of 6th house so again VRY

Now, from this data marriage should have happened in Sa antra but it

Try to see if the career is matching and check for other events as well.

Lagna is at the border 29 Aq, when I change that to

You are right, in Sat antara she had an affair with

2004. My cousin was too embarassed to give me any more
details.How did you figure out the affair at work
part? I see Sa as 12th lord in 5th and aspecting 7th,
is that why you thought about the affair?

Now, coming back to the timing part, she is now
running Mercury antara, again mercury is strong for
7th and 12th but weak for 5th. Next is Ketu
representing moon and venus. If it behaves like Venus
then ketu can furnish the timing, but like moon, I am
doubtful? Next is Venus and it surely can give the
result.

What do you suggest?

Ash, with all respect, but in my view it is not so simple. I think that the "blessing" should be defined precisely.

With present definition, I can prove my statement with many charts. Let say, take for example chart of Bill Gates. It does not matter if one takes lagna of Gemini or Cancer (as there are two versions around). In both cases, relationship of his 1st and 9th lord does not show blessings.

I can not speak about his life with 100% certainty, but he does not look like to be without basic blessings of higher status in society. like good wife and children, good employment, very good riches, contacts with influential persons of the World, some fame, some skills, etc...

In some parts of the Word that would be blessings... .:)

Do you have a definition of "blessing" ?

And, is there a space to consider "blessings" for different houses ?

Dear Dadhi,

Blessing, is something that is beyond money, wealth fame etc. For
example say u are teaching KAS to some student of yours or say u are
solving a chart in says years from now and for example, something is
difficult, then from now where and out of the blue say you might
remember some law or something that u had discussed might just come in
your mind, that is also blessing.

Say you are driving and there is an accident, maybe due to blessing
one might get saved and a big loss might get averted due to presence
of mind.

Another example is that say if there are problems in marriage, so due
to blessings, and if one listens to elders or it can be due to some
words of elders or guru or senior something might stike a person and
he or she might not break the marriage.

At work say one is facing a difficult problem or say some machine is
not working or something like that, then out of the blue one might
remember some lesson of engineering school or some experience might
come to mind with which you can solve such problems.

So the meaning of "Blessing" is as per vedic era.

Another way of seeing bill gates chart, who's chart we do not know, or
are not certain, if there is no blessing means he might have had to
work hard to achieve fame, he or she might not get to stay much with
parents, or might have to face so many legal battles or might not be
able to enjoy wealth etc.

However, do notice, now a days, as per media, bill gates is doing so
much charity work and he is using the "power of giving" to help fight
HIV, Cancer etc., so he might get the blessing of so many families who
are given a chance :-).

In short, those who have blessings, their life goes smooth. They

Yes, also you can get blessings, by serving your parents, guru despite

Here study the status of Venus. Venus is in Moola nakshtra and its

He did get married on Dec 13th 2006.And he did change
his job some time in Oct 2006. As far as I know, there
was no blot in his name or anything. His marriage
process was a rocky ride though.In the last sector, of
Rahu, he did met some girls but he could not make up
his mind and let those alliances go.

However, the reason I thought Rahu could give
marriage... was this.

Venus is LOE and also samdharmi to Saturn LOD. Does it
hold true that if Venus is in Moola Nakshatra, it

When Rahu is in the constelation of Ketu, it will also

represent planets denoted by Ketu. So it is three planets.

Rahu if situated in house A or D or E, it will reacts as the

lord of these houses.

Rahu/ Ketu represents two/ three planets, then the qualities

will be in proportion to the points of the planet, aquired in

Sarvastak chart in the house these are situated.

Suppose Rahu is situated in Sagi in say 3 degrees, then it

will represents Jupiter and Ketu, and Ketu in Gemini 3 degree will

represents Mercury and Mars. Thus it will represents Jupiter, Mercury

and Mars.

Rahu and ketu are imaginery points, These are intersection

points on the axis of Moon and sun. When any planet is very near to

these points, it gets effected. if the difference is less then 10

degrees, it is effected considerable. As the distance increases the

Moon, Mars and Jupiter. Mercury is also effected to some extent.

Other planets are also effected but the effect is less. Sun does not

get effected or very negligible effect.

When these planets are with Ketu, in that case Rahu is just

180 degrees apart. again it effects.

When Rahu or Ketu are alone or situated in D or E, they

mostly come forward to give the result. In this case result is better.

To have any unreasonably persistent idea in mind is the

result of Moon afflicted by Rahu/Ketu. More points in 3rd house then

6th, 10 and 11, also makes the person being obessed. If the points in

The reason I had asked was that if the birth time was earlier then
there is blessing i.e. with Aries navamsa, means if the lagna is in
the first 3deg20 of sagittarius. So that might change the whole
complexion of the chart.

Other than that, with the time given, there is full delay of Saturn,
Ju is with saturn and Jupiter is in nakshtra of Pushya ruled by Sa so
it can't moderate the delay of Saturn.

Jupiter is aspecting 2nd house and also 7th lord Mercury so here Ju is
also delay causing planet.

Saturn is also causing full delay, as Sa is aspecting House C, itself
is LoA and Sa conjoins LoC in navamsa so full delay.

So delay of Saturn gets over say around 1st september 2004 and then
there is in addition delay due to Jupiter so 1 or 2 years, means leave
Ju antra. So Ju antra cant give.

LoD and LoE are eager to furnish timing. Apart from Leo and Cancer or say its lords Sun and Moon who rule 1 house each, all others rule 2 houses.

Let me take concrete example. Say Gemini is lagna, and Jupiter antra is on and Jupiter is located in 4th house of the chart in virgo with 5 bindus.

So break it up.....

1) Ju rules 10th house and 7th house
2) Ju is placed in 4th house of the chart with 4 bindus.

Now break up point 1 further in a logical fashion.

a) Ju rules 10th house
b) Ju rules 7th house

Now break up point a and b further.

i) Since Ju rules 10th house it, during its dasha it will become eager to furnish timing for 4th and 8th from 10th house so that means 1st and 5th house.

ii) Since Ju rules 7th house it will be eager to trigger events for 4th and 8th house from 7th house so that is 10th and 2nd house which means for 10th house Ju becomes LoD and for 2nd house Ju becomes LoE.

Now take point 2 and break it up.

a) Ju is placed in 4th house with 5 bindus i.e. more than 4

Break up point a further.

i) Since planets with more than 4 bindus, it will also become eager to furnish timing for the 4th and 8th house from where its placed. So by virtue of being placed in 4th house, it will become eager to give result for 7th house and 11th house means 4th from 4th and 8th from 4th.

In Summary : For Gemini lagna and with a scenario where Ju is placed in 4th house with more than four bindus it will trigger or say become eager to furnish timing of the following houses.

1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 10th and 11th houses.

Relationship - Venus - Saturn & Mercury - Saturn

Dear Satish,

Good question.

We cannot say that Sa and Me are Natural Samdharmi (NSD), however they share a special
relationship. Firstly, lets be clear why we say Sa and Ve are NSD.

Saturn and Venus

Taurus and Aquarius are in 4:10 (Kendras) AND Libra and Aquarius are in 5:9 (Trines).

Taurus and Capricorn are in 5:9 (Trines) AND Libra and Capricorn are in 4:10 (Kendras)

So Ve and Sa are considered NSD for each other. Also Ve and Sa are Yogakarak for each other's sign.

Exception is that when Ve and Sa go into 1:7 means they have enimity and they will cease to act as NSD.

So that way, this is considered in KAS.

So for TIMING OF EVENT, if Venus is unable and Sa's antra comes and Ve is powerful for the event, then Sa can step in for it as NSD.

Similarly, if for some reason Sa was unable to give result, and Ve's antra came so Ve will step in for Saturn and will furnish the timing

Saturn and Mercury

Now coming to relationship between Saturn and Mercury and seeing this from KAS view point.

Here they do share a special relationship however its not like Sa and Ve.

From Gemini, Capricorn is 8th house from it. In KAS terminology it's Karak sthan. So if Status of Saturn is good, it means it will give better result or quality of result for Gemini.

This u are already using unknowingly in KAS.

Similarly, Virgo is 8th house from Aquarius, so here Mercury is acting like LoA or Karak for Aquarius. So here better the status of Mercury the better will be the result (quality) of Aquarius.

So Sa and Me are karak sthan for each other's houses so they share a relationship that way.

Saturn denotes brilliance and Mercury denotes intellegence.

However, Saturn can't replace Mercury for timing of event just as Ve can replace Saturn or Saturn can replace Venus.

So Me and Sa do share a relationship albiet its different form Ve and Sa.
